Where All Eight Quarterbacks Rank Heading Into Divisional Round Of Playoffs

Aaron Rodgers (Green Bay Packers): Rodgers had one of the best regular seasons of his career in 2020 and is the favorite to win his third Most Valuable Player when it is announced in just a few weeks. Rodgers led the league in touchdown passes (48) and completion percentage (70.7%). Rodgers has Green Bay in a great position entering his first playoff game as the NFC playoffs must go through Lambeau Field in 2021.

Josh Allen (Buffalo Bills): Allen had a great regular season and was the driving force behind Buffalo being the No. 2 seed in the AFC. Allen also willed the Bills to a first round playoff win, their first since 1995, and is playing the best football of his career.

Patrick Mahomes (Kansas City Chiefs): The former MVP and Super Bowl MVP had a great season overall, but it ended on a sour note. In Mahomes’ last four starts his passer rating was below 100 and has eight touchdown passes against four interceptions in those games. Mahomes is this high on the list due to past performance, not due to present success.

Tom Brady (Tampa Bay Buccaneers): Brady has been the hottest quarterback in all of football over the past five weeks and has 15 touchdowns and three interceptions over that span. Brady has finally found his footing in one of the most explosive offenses in the entire NFL.

Lamar Jackson (Baltimore Ravens): Jackson was finally able to get the first playoff win of his career after losing the first two. Jackson, while still extremely limited throwing the football, is doing just enough to will a talented Ravens team to victory, winners of six games in a row entering the Divisional Round.

Drew Brees (New Orleans Saints): Brees has been limited by lackluster arm strength the past handful of seasons, and that is the case once again this year. Even with the return of All-Pro Running Back Alvin Kamara and Wide Receiver Michael Thomas, Brees still underwhelmed in the Saints 21-9 drubbing of the Chicago Bears on Wild Card Weekend.

Baker Mayfield (Cleveland Browns): Mayfield won his first playoff game after a complete meltdown by the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday night. Mayfield has yet to show he could consistently be trusted in big spots which justifies his ranking being near the bottom. Mayfield faces the defending champion Kansas City Chiefs next, a true litmus test for the former No.1 overall pick.

Jared Goff/ John Wolford: Regardless of which quarterback is under center for the Rams against the Packers on Saturday afternoon, L.A.’s quarterback situation is the worst of any of the eight remaining playoff teams.
