Ranking Top Five NBA Players Heading Into 2021 Offseason

With the Milwaukee Bucks winning their first NBA title since 1971, and the NBA Draft and free agency right around the corner, here are the best players heading into the offseason.

  1. Giannis Antetokounmpo: Before the 2021 playoffs, Antetokounmpo was not considered the best player in the league. Circumstances have changed though and Antetokounmpo had an NBA Finals for the ages and was named Finals MVP. Antetokounmpo deserves to hold the title of best player on the planet for at least the offseason after a playoff run that will not be forgotten anytime soon.

  2. Kevin Durant: Durant almost single-handedly knocked off the eventual NBA champions. If Durant’s foot size was half a size smaller the Brooklyn Nets may be the one having a championship parade instead of the Milwaukee Bucks. Even though Durant is injury-prone, he can make any shot on the court and is an unstoppable offensive force when healthy.

  3. LeBron James: ‘King James” reign as the best player in the world has officially come to an end after a disappointing finish to the 2021 season. James is entering his 19th season, and with major injuries in two of the past three seasons, can no longer be counted on physically like he could earlier in his career. James needs more help at this point in his career but is still the best passer in the entire league.

  4. Stephen Curry: The two-time MVP reminded the NBA world how talented he truly is. Curry carried an under-manned Warriors team to the play-in tournament and became the oldest player to win the scoring title in over 20 years. Curry is still the best shooter in the league, and after such a strong year in 2021, and has another few years of basketball excellence.

  5. Luka Doncic: Doncic was the only reason the Dallas Mavericks took the Clippers to game seven in the first round of the playoffs. Doncic is the best young player in the league but needs to improve his three-point and free throw shooting to unlock his full potential.
