Eastern Conference Finals: Atlanta Hawks vs. Milwaukee Bucks
Both the Hawks and Bucks shocked the basketball world by going on the road to win game seven. Even though the Bucks slaying the Nets was surprising, the fact that Atlanta knocked off the top-seeded Philadelphia 76ers sent shockwaves through the NBA world.
The Bucks seemed to have exorcised some of the demons from payoffs past, as two-time NBA MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo was the driving force behind the Bucks winning games 6 and 7.
Ultimately, the Bucks are just a better team and Trae Young will not dominate against Milwaukee as he did against the Knicks and Sixers. Milwaukee held Brooklyn’s historically great offense in check, and the Bucks have a variety of defenders to throw Young’s way.
The Hawks 2021 NBA Playoff run will end in the Eastern Conference Finals
Prediction: Bucks in 6
Western Conference Finals: Los Angeles Clippers vs. Phoenix Suns
For the first time in franchise history, the Los Angeles Clippers find themselves in the Western Conference Finals. The loss of Kawhi Leonard though for presumably the rest of the 2021 NBA Playoffs is too much for L.A. to overcome. The Clippers, and Paul George specifically, put forth a herculean effort to beat the top-seeded Utah Jazz in games five and six.
The Phoenix Suns led by Devin Booker are red hot and Chris Paul, currently in the NBA’s COVID-19 protocols, will return at some point in the series to take Phoenix to the NBA Finals. The Clippers are a very talented team and have shown championship mettle throughout the playoffs, but the Suns are a slightly better team playing a tick better at the perfect time.
Prediction: Suns in 6
